December 8, 2023. SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — Kewadin Casinos announced they will soon start a complete interior renovation and remodel of the Kewadin Casino Hotel 268 room hotel tower in Sault Ste Marie. This interior renovation project, is slated to start mid-January of 2024 and is phase two of the already-announced multi-million-dollar exterior upgrade project currently underway. Phase one will give Kewadin Sault Hotel tower a fresh new exterior while phase two will bring brand new hotel rooms. Exterior renovations are expected to be complete by December 2024 and interior is planned to be completed by Winter of 2025.
Kewadin Casino Sault Ste Marie will remain open for the duration of this project.
The Kewadin Casino in St. Ignace is the casino owned by our tribe that we recommend unless you have plans requiring you to be in Sault Ste Marie.

When staying at the Kewadian Casino and Hotel in St Ignace Shuttle Service is available to any location in St. Ignace including to catch the Ferry to Mackinac Island. The Kewadian Shuttle will pick you up at other hotels for those wanting to stay in town but play at the casino.
When making your reservation on-line or on the phone make sure you verify the location of your room because it has been reported that others have thought their room was in St. Ignace only to find out their room was actually 50 miles away in Sault Ste Marie. With only 81 rooms it books up fast so make your reservation early.
