The 2024 Michigan Online Gaming Report indicates that Bay Mills Casino and their Sports Gaming Partnership with DraftKings income is exceeding the income generated by Sault Tribe's Sports Betting partner Caesars branded as the Horseshoe by millions each year.
The Michigan online casino market is one of the most successful and lucrative in the country. In 2024, Michigan’s online casino revenue was a record $2.44 billion, up 27.1% over the 023 total of some $1.92 billion.
While the Sault Tribe Sports Betting Contract is not is as lucrative as others it is ranked # 8 of the 15 Sports Gaming Licensee, though the report also rubs the loss of ownership of Greektown in our face. The report combined with the past casino income losses support the recommendation made for an Economic Development Committee for our Tribe. Hopefully the past arrogance of the tribal members that resulted in these losses is over and we can move ahead in a positive manner. The report demonstrates the casinos in the U.P. can be successful.
