Sault Tribe Board meets Sept. 5 in St. Ignace

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Board of Directors will hold a regular meeting beginning 5 p.m. on Sept. 5 at the Kewadin Shores Casino Event Center, in person or via Zoom, https://zoom.us/j/83640619761.

“Membership Participation” will be held at 5 p.m. in person or by virtual attendance. The link is available Sault Tribe website under membership assistance for the meeting link and Membership Form that must be completed. The deadline to submit a form is 1 p.m. on meeting day. On the agenda under Resolutions is: Health Division – Stronger Systems, Stronger Communities, Establishment FY 2023 Budget, Health Division – Emergency Preparedness Establishment of FY 2023 Budget, Buildings – Internal Repairs & Maintenance FY 2023 and FY 2024 Budget Modifications, Indirect Executive Director and Indirect Costs FY 2023 Budget Modifications, Authorization to Negotiate – Sault Ste. Marie, MI Property Disposition, Acceptance of the 2022 Governmental Audit, Approving Amendments to the Employee/Employer Health Insurance Premium Tier Structure, Approving the Sponsorship Program under the Employee Benefit Plan, Approving Amendments to Vision Benefits, Approving Amendments to Hearing Aid Benefits, Rescinding Resolution No: 2022-359 and Terminating the Special Counsel Contract-Morisset, Schlosser, Jozwiak, & Somerville PC, Temporarily Disbanding the Election Committee and Establishing the Emergency Election Committee, Amending Chapter 16: Removal from Office, and Supporting Federal Recognition of the Mackinac Band.
