September 17 2024. Today the Sault Tribe Board of Directors with the urging of the Elder Committee working in harmony for the benefit of the Tribal Members, Employees and Guests to the Reservation passed resolution to ban the use of polystyrene containers known to most as the brand name Styrofoam by all tribal businesses and government offices effective in January 2025.
The Board also passed a resolution to implement a plan to make all the Kewadian Casinos Smoke Free. The Management Team at the Casinos will be instructed to device a plan to implement this change which will be approved or modified by the board. This change will reduce the health risk of our employees and guests along with increasing the likely-hood of attracting new customers and new employees that enjoy a smoke free environment.
